Tracy is a small city in California with an interesting history. It was originally named “Morris” after Charles Morris, President of the Southern Pacific Railroad, but it was renamed Tracy in 1886 to honor Patrick Tracy, who served as mayor of San Francisco for 15 years and helped finance the completion of the railroad line between Sacramento and San Francisco. One thing that many people don’t know about Tracy is that it has some very beautiful places to visit.

The Tracy Historical Museum is a great place for visitors to learn more about the history of the city. The museum is located at 25 Lake Street and has been open since November, 1974. It was dedicated on March, 9th 1975 by Richard M. Nixon as part of his 50-state tour promoting the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration Program.
