The Portland Museum of Art (PMA) is a museum devoted to the visual arts in Portland, Maine. The PMA has been a vital part of the Maine art scene since it opened its doors on December 17th, 1929. The last time the PMA had a major renovation was over 10 years ago and their current expansion plan will address this need. This project will increase our gallery space by almost 50%. In addition to being able to accommodate more artwork from area artists, we hope that this renovation will allow us to have better experiences for both visitors and school children as well as provide much-needed storage space.

The Portland Museum of Art was founded in 1963 by George Loring Brown III who died in 2013 at age 88

In addition to its art exhibitions it also features an annual lecture series called “Museum Lectures” where speakers come together to talk about their work or have conversations on current topics
